Good Morning, Cardinal Nation. The current medal count by a Stanford athlete in Paris stands at 23. We are the Michael Jordan of Olympic medals.

That’s because the Card did WORK over the weekend, collecting three medals Friday, adding four more on Saturday and rounding it out with two on Sunday. Who took home the hardware? Go HERE for a list of all 23 medalists.

The record? 27 from Rio de Janeiro in 2016! With about a week left in the City of Lights, it's fairly safe to say that breaking that record is within reach.

What else do we have mixed in for All Write Now? Check it out below!

🎖 Torri Huske captured her fifth Olympic medal of 2024
🏊🏻‍♀️ Katie Ledecky lands her ninth gold medal, the most of any American woman!

🔼 Anchors Away. In the final race of the Olympic Games, Torri Huske captured her fifth medal of 2024 with another gold in the women's 4x100 medley relay.

Huske anchored the relay with a 52.42 split, helping Team USA shatter the World record with a 3:49.62. The Cardinal junior won gold alongside Regan Smith, Lilly King, and Gretchen Walsh.

It closes out an incredible run in Paris for the Arlington, Virginia, native, as Huske earned a medal in each event she competed in, bringing home three gold medals and two silvers

🔼 The Gold Standard. It was another golden night inside La Défense Arena, as Torri Huske and Katie Ledecky each captured another Olympic gold on night eight of swimming action.

Ledecky rewrote history again on Saturday evening, winning the 800 free with a time of 8:11.04 for her second gold medal of the 2024 Olympic Games.

The win secured Olympic gold medal number nine for Ledecky, the most of any American woman in history. She also became just the second swimmer to win an event in four different Olympics, joining Michael Phelps, who accomplished the feat in the 200 medley.

🔼 Pooling Resources. The U.S. Olympic Women's Water Polo Team powered their way into the top eight and a spot in the quarterfinal round with a 17-5 win over France. Team USA next faces Hungary in the quarterfinals tomorrow, on August 6, at 11:30 a.m. PT.

🔼 For Pete's Sake. Peter Chatain ’22 earned a bronze medal in rowing Saturday as part of the United States boat in the men’s eight A final.

Chatain rowed in the No. 6 seat for the U.S., which covered the 2,000-meter course at the Vaires-sur-Marne Nautical Stadium in 5:25.28.

This is the first U.S. medal in the men’s eight since winning bronze in 2008 in Beijing and Stanford’s first medal in this race since Adam Kreek won gold for Canada in 2008.

Go here for more on Chatain, including his impressive run while at Stanford.

🔼 To the Max. "The ability for Stanford to connect the past generation to the current generation to achieve those goals...I'll be rooting for them all," said men's basketball player Maxime Raynaud in a recent interview. "I hope they bring home as many medals as possible."

"There are so many amazing athletes; overachievers everywhere," he went on to say. "It's great to see there are bigger fish than you...it gets you very humble and hungry."

Raynaud is also appreciative that the Olympics are being held in Paris, so the world can see "how cool the French people are!"

🔼 Don't Take Him For Granted. And how about a Grant Fisher appreciation post, shall we? 👇🏼
