Good Morning, Cardinal Nation. Overall juggernaut Katie Ledecky is one medal away from tying the RECORD for any American woman in Olympic history.

Ledecky is attempting to share the sport's all-time record of 12 total medals with the United States trio of former Cardinal stars Jenny Thompson, Dana Torres and Natalie Coughlin.

Will she do it when she swims again tomorrow in the women's 1500-meter freestyle heats?

🔼 We're Gonna Need a Bigger Medal Case. Three Cardinal reached the podium on night one of swimming competition in Paris, as Torri Huske, Katie Ledecky, and Simone Manuel added to the program medal count on Saturday.

Ledecky kicked off finals action with a bronze-medal effort in the 400 free, posting a 4:00.86.

In the 4x100 free relay, Huske and Manuel made up one-half of the new American record mark of 3:30:20 to finish second to Australia's freestyle quartet.

🔼 For Those Keeping Track. Is anyone NOT keeping track? Well, we've got your back.

That's already two gold, three silver, and one bronze, and we're just getting started!

🔼 On the Fence? Not at All. With a dramatic final strike, former Stanford fencer Vivian Kong captured the women's epee gold medal in overtime. The medal was the first for a fencer from Hong Kong, coming in Kong's second Olympics.

The 2014 NCAA Individual Champion earned a bye in the round of 64, before picking up four-straight wins to make it to the gold medal bout.

Facing France's Auriene Mallo-Breton in the championship bout, Kong quickly trailed 7-1. But after rallying to force overtime at 12-12, Kong struck Mallo-Breton to win 13-12.

🔼 Cook 'N' Bacon. And, no, this isn't a show on HGTV but rather a pair of Cardinal who wowed in Paris.

Former Stanford diver Kassidy Cook wasted no time reaching the medal stand in Paris, kicking off the 2024 Olympic Games with a silver medal performance in the 3-meter synchronized springboard alongside partner Sarah Bacon

The pair scored 314.64 points in the five-round competition for the United States' first medal in the event since 2012.

A two-time Olympian after making an appearance at the 2016 Rio Games, this is Cook's first career Olympic medal.

The silver medal performance concludes Cook's Olympic program in Paris.

🌲 ONE BIG THING

Staying in Her Lane. After missing the podium in Tokyo, Torri Huske takes GOLD in the women's 100m butterfly at the Paris Olympics!
